James D. Julius, Managing Member holds an MBA degree with emphasis on marketing and management and has more than 30 years senior level executive experience including assignments in retained executive search; building of national sales teams; managing sales teams; and human resources management as Vice President Human Resources for a Nasdaq listed company. He has founded 5 start-up organizations.
Jim is a Private Pilot with over 400 hours and is the owner of a much-loved Cessna Cardinal. He is a National Aircraft Appraisers Association Certified Senior Aircraft Appraiser with USPAP Endorsement and provides aircraft appraisal and Buyer’s Agent services through his company MyAircraftAppraiser.com.
Jim founded SportPlanesFlorida.com in 2007 when he saw the need for an LSA and Sport Pilot focused flight school and an opportunity to help LSA buyers choose the right aircraft for their flying needs. Contact Jim at jim@sportplanesflorida.com
Recently Sport Planes of Florida, LLC expanded to include the newly formed Gulf Coast International Flight Academy, Inc. GulfCoastFlight.com provides complete flight training services including Sport Pilot, Private Pilot, Instrument, Commercial, and CFI ratings.
Dr. Gloria Julius, Managing Member holds an Ed.D. from the University of Maryland and serves as the Chief Learning Officer for a large non-profit virtual private school organization (18,000 students). She has more than 30 years public education managment experience including Director of Elementary Schools for a large public school district. Under her leadership as Principal, her elementary school was awarded a National Blue Ribbon of excellence by First Lady Laura Bush. Gloria is responsible for all financial and accounting functions for SportPlanesFlorida.com.
Leonard Harris, Atlanta Division Sales Manager
Leonard has a diverse background in aviation. As a Registered Nurse he sold medical equipment for many years and owned several airplanes that enhanced his ability to cover his vast sales territory. With a Multi-engine Commercial rating he has flown everything from Piper Cubs to a Pilatus PC 12. He spent four years "Crop Dusting" in south Georgia when he retired from his sales career, flying Ag-Cats and Turbine Thrushes. And he still occasionally does some spraying to help out his friends. The past ten years he has been Manager and now owns The Pilot Shop at PDK formerly Wings & Things. As the President of the PDK Airport Association he stays busy with airport projects and is also the VP of Membership of the Atlanta Aero Club. He loves PDK and enjoys flying every chance he gets. You can find him most days holding court at the pilot shop telling stories and making friends.
